Welder / General Fitter (Grade UHL10)

Reporting to: Maintenance Supervisor
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication of metal components
- Repair and maintain gates, frames, brackets, supports, and metal structures.
- Install and maintain mechanical components, pumps, doors, locks, and hinges.
- Assist with maintenance of kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, and mechanical systems.
- Support small construction, renovation, and remodeling works.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on mechanical and metal installations.
- Ensure safe handling of welding equipment, gas cylinders, and power tools.
- Collaborate with plumbers, electricians, and HVAC technicians on multidisciplinary tasks.
Qualifications and Experience
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)
- Trade Test Certificate in Carpentry and Joinery or TEVET Certificate in Carpentry or its equivalent.
- Advanced carpentry or joinery certificates will be an added advantage
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in carpentry works within a commercial, construction, or hospitality environment.
