Forum for African Women Educationalists in Malawi (FAWEMA)

TECHNICAL, ENTREPRENEURIAL AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING (TEVET) BURSARY FOR 2026 ACADEMIC INTAKE
The Forum for African Women Educationalists in Malawi (FAWEMA) has partnered with the Mastercard Foundation and Ministry of Labor to implement the FAWE/Mastercard Foundation Bursary Program.
Bursaries available are targeting 80% female and 20% male for program participants (students) interested in pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) courses. The program will prioritize participants facing the highest social and economic barriers, with 15% of them being persons with disability and refugees.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR TEVET BURSARIES AT FAWEMA
Applicants must:
a) Be aged between 15 – 25 years at the time of applying.
b) Have Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent.
c) Be willing to undertake any STEM Courses from the Technical Colleges listed
d) Not be a current beneficiary of any other bursary scheme or similar bursary elsewhere.
e) Commit to pursue a three (3) year program
f) Be young people from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, living with disabilities, refugees, HIV/AIDS–affected, orphaned (total or partial) are encouraged to apply.
c) Be willing to give back to his/her community through development services after completion of their education.

i. Livingstonia Technical College in Rumphi.
ii. Mzuzu Technical College in Mzuzu.
iii. Namitete Technical College in Lilongwe.
iv. Lilongwe Technical College in Lilongwe.
v. Malawi Council of Disability Affairs (MACODA) in Lilongwe.
vi. Salima Technical College in Salima.
vii. Nasawa Technical College in Zomba, and
viii. Soche Technical College, in Blantyre.
APPLICATION PROCESS:
Interested Applicants should request for an application form which can be obtained through one of the following options:
Teacher Development Centers (TDC) across the country; District Education Offices across the country, FAWEMA office in Area 47, sector 3, in Lilongwe or through email request directed to administration@fawema.org.
Closing date for receiving applications is 2nd January 2026. The application process is totally free of charge.
